It's amazing the turns and twists our lives take - some challenging, others cherished, but we take each day as the gift it is intended to be. Last March we started exploring new opportunities for both of our careers, similar to the path we took moving from Chicago to Tucson six years ago. All the planning is taking us to Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. Each pursuing our careers, Gayle will be teaching, supporting the Education Reform and Duane will be working in construction, continuing our imprint on the world that Gayle builds minds and Duane builds buildings!
On August 11th - Gayle takes the first step by boarding a plane from Tucson to Houston to Doha to Abu Dhabi - a long flight, over 18 hours. We started the process by first sharing with family and friends and then selling almost everything. The house is up for rent and each day our little bumps in the roadway are smoothed. Nothing we can't handle together. While Gayle departs - Duane will stay behind in Tucson and continue to work and get Grady off to his first semester at the University of Arizona. Excited we could all be together for our daughter Jessica's wedding this past June, we all will be together for the second wedding of the year, Meredith's and Julio's on September 17th in Chicago. Then Duane can make his preparations to join Gayle in the UAE and find out first hand what life has in store for the two of us!
Thanks to our Wing View friends for our "We'll Miss You While You're Gone" party - it was incredible! The next ten days holds many get togethers and "see you laters" for this is not goodbye. While we will visit the USA next summer, we hope to have many house guests visiting us in the UAE!
