Phuket, Thailand
                                                                                                              Danny Kaye
After visiting family in Texas, Colorado and Florida, we took off for Thailand to enjoy six days in the sun!  Soaking in the peace and quiet and the beautiful weather.  Kamala Beach is quiet and serene. There are a host of activities to take part in if you need some adventure.  We chose to read, relax, swim, walk and explore. Just enjoyed our slice of paradise!

The best part….traveling with your best friend!

Walking like an Egyptian Cairo, Egypt

Cairo, Egypt

Most of our "bucket list" items have to do with our
memories as kids reading National Geographic.
Seeing pictures of the pyramids all those years
ago just made us want to go and see them in person.

Off we go to the land of the Pharaohs!

Welcome to the Kempinski Nile Hotel -
beautiful lobby, beautiful art work throughout.

Our view of the Nile.

The Cairo Tower is the most prominent feature of Cairo
located on Gezira Island in the middle of the Nile River.  It
stands 187 meters high and offers a panoramic view of the
City of Cairo, the pyramids and the Nile River.

First stop Cairo Antiquities Museum.  Recently the museum allowed guests to use cameras inside the museum.
A real treat to share pictures of history with everyone.

Our tour guide to Cairo was Andrew Nabil -
if you are planning a trip to Cairo we highly
recommend Andrew to show you the sites.
 Thank you Andrew
for making our trip so memorable!

The “stepped” Pyramid of Djoser is located in Saqqara, northwest of Memphis.

The Solar Boat Museum located south of the Great Pyramid of Cheops.

The Colossus of Ramses II is a 10 meter (33 foot) long limestone statue

once the capital of ancient Egypt.

St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church
(The Hanging Church) located in Coptic Cairo.

The Sultan Hassan Mosque and the Mosque of Al Rifa’I (Royal Mosque) are located in Coptic Cairo adjacent to the Citadel of Salah Al-Din.

The Mosque of Mohamed Ali (Alabaster Mosque)
is located within the Citadel of Salah Al-Din.

The Church of St. George is within the Citadel in
Coptic Cairo and it is the only round church in Cairo.

Citadel of Salah Al-Din (The Fortress of Babylon) located
in Old Cairo across the Nile River from Giza.
Wonderful art in all the hotels, but some of the most
interesting art work was the street art. Just amazing!
