School has started - Let the Celebration begin - BEDAYA!

Just like USA school districts, a celebration of the new year takes place with the staff.  For us here in Abu Dhabi, ADEC (Abu Dhabi Education Council) hosted the Bedaya, translated "a good day".   Held at the ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company).  If you remember the pictures from my apartment window, it's the building that tilts like the leaning Tower of Pisa.

The Main Reception prior to guests arriving facing auditorium entrance.

More bistro tables set up in front of Bedaya Welcome Breakfast.

Dining for all staff after the meeting.

Not the yellow brick road, but still found my way!

Thirsty?  Water, apple, mango, orange juices!

Coffee, served and prepared for you.....or do you prefer tea?

The UAE loves the sweets.....so glad I don't eat bread!

They do look good!

Packed....this was only the Abu Dhabi teacher, not the Al Ain
or Al Gharbia teachers who came to Bedaya the next day.

Silly readers, meetings are always in Arabic!
Translation.....okay, got the jist of what was being said.
Meetings at school are in arabic and we are dependent on
a bi-lingual teacher to translate the important details.
We hope at least, right?

The table, set so beautiful.  Water, soda, tea, coffee....and the food
was delicious.  Many local dishes and desserts.....YUMMMM!

Centerpiece was so pretty.....very class act!

Three Words:  Unity, Excellence, Heritage!
