Happy Father's Day!

Due to some blogging format problems we are back up and running and excited for the second year of Living the Life in Abu Dhabi.  On Father's Day we went with friends John and Nancy to the very highly recommended Kennedy Restaurant located at the Armed Officers Club in Abu Dhabi.

A very impressive building as arrive at this renovated Officers Club of the 70's, now
a 5 STAR hotel with over 600 rooms, banquet facilities, restaurants, bars and some
of the most interesting recreation under one roof.  It is a must see in Abu Dhabi.

Duane and I have been fascinated with the amazing water fountains
through out Abu Dhabi - just spectacular - coming to a blog soon.
While the sun was setting - this picture captures the fountain,
but not the peaceful tranquility it creates as you enter the club.

Welcome....very impressive entrance....the lighting, decor and the flowers.

We gave our guys the Red Carpet treatment!

The Atrium is just breath taking!  Set up for a wedding for
a Indian bride and groom and their 600 guests!

One of two head tables - 24 at this table!

Elegant!

Throughout the hotel and Club there are garden walkways....
a very special treat in Abu Dhabi...so aromatic!

First impression - WOW!
Finest China, Silver, crisp linens, most comfortable leather
dining chair I have ever sat in and attended to by a two
personal attendants.....now this is the life!

There they are the men of our lives....L to R: John, Nancy, me and Duane!

Cream of Asparagus Soup and a Seafood Appetizer.....
I don't remember what it is because I don't eat seafood -
but they loved it.....

Best part when I refused mine due to seafood - I was
treated to the Aspargus Soup and a mini Caprese Salad!

Beef Ribs and Asparagus.....presentation incredible!

Prime Rib, carrots with Bernaise Sauce!

Our chefs....very charming!

In the officers club you can tour the history of the UAE
Armed Forces and visiting militaries.  You can see the
of Western Militaries in the progression of uniforms.
You would need an entire afternoon to truly view and
read the rich history and culture of the country.

More modern version seen today.

These two photos show how the uniform is
 complimented with the traditional guthra,
the head scarf and the egal, the rope that
holds the head scarf in place.

The most fragrant and colorful floral arrangements
are displayed all over the property.

For entertainment there is a bowling alley seen here in
the popular Cosmic setting, a gun range, a movie theater,
dance club, gymnasium, pool and so much more!

One of many flag walls....gives hope to world peace!

Leaving....but we'll be back!

My REVIEW.....EXCEPTIONAL!

Three final words:  Two Thumbs UP!
