The Golden Triangle
We welcome
you to share our travel experiences and memories of our recent trip to the “Golden
Triangle” visiting the historic cities of New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, India.
The history
of these cities is layered over centuries and Delhi’s origin can be traced back
to 1450 B.C. The cities are a testament to the ancient
culture that has influenced the way of life, cuisine and the arts of India.
During our eight
days Gayle and I enjoyed the comfort of being driven to our destinations in a
personal vehicle by a private driver. Along
the way we saw many awesome and inspiring sights and met some of the friendliest
and most hardworking people we will ever come to know.
We had the
opportunity to stay in some of the finest hotels and enjoy their recognized and
award winning restaurants and bars: The Kempinski Ambience Hotel, New Delhi; Jaypee Palace Hotel, Agra; LeMeridien Jaipur; The
Grand in New Delhi; The Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi. The design and the atmosphere of each hotel
paid tribute to their cities and culture through their architecture, their arts
and fabrics and cuisines.
Our trip was
highlighted by many awesome and historic sites.
The Red Fort; Raj Ghat (Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial); Jama Masjid mosque;
Chandni Chowk; Qutab Minar; India Gate; Taj Mahal; Fatehur Sikri; the Amber
Fort; the Jantar Mantar (18th century observatory) and the Hawa
Mahal to mention a few.
THREE WORDS: DREAM COME TRUE!
