Leaving on Thursday, August 11th 1pm Tucson time and arrived in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, August 13th at 12:20 am, getting to my hotel room at 2:30, simply, is a long trip, but great fun! When we arrived in Doha, Qatar we walked off the plane to the shuttle awaiting to bring us to our flight to Abu Dhabi. Since we arrived from another country we had to go through Immigration, a fairly quick process. A short wait and we were boarding another plane to Abu Dhabi. When we arrived in Abu Dhabi we took a train to Immigration and were met by Representatives from ADEC, Abu Dhabi Education Council. Now we see that most of the plane was teachers, easily over 200 of us! We wait in line to have our eyes scanned and photographed and then off to get our passports stamped! Now officially in AD we go to collect our luggage and I was very pleased on how organized everything was from the time we left the plane.
Many Representatives from Nirvana, the travel agency that made all our arrangements were on hand and there to help us with our arrival. We are escorted outside to very nice coach buses and our luggage was put on one of two trucks. We arrive at our hotel and go to a mass registration that was so smooth and seamless....less than ten minutes. We walk back upstairs and our luggage is off the truck and it is all tagged with our room numbers. AMAZING! I really can't figure out how they did that so fast. I went to my room and within another ten minutes my room doorbell rang and my luggage was delivered.
